While the standard S1 was largely identical to the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud, the Continental variants were all coach-built at a premium of approximately fifty percent over the standard cars.
As such, only 431 S1 Continentals were produced in comparison to 3,107 'standard' cars.
Of these, some of the most beautiful were undoubtedly produced by H.
J.
Mulliner.
Design No.
7443, the 'Flying Spur', was a four-door sedan designed to offer the sporty looks of the Continental coupes with the four-passenger comfort of a sedan.
Only 54 vehicles were produced in the 'Six Light' style, with a further 16 built with differing window treatments.
As with all S1s, a 4.
9L Inline-6 and a four-speed automatic transmission provided the car with exceptional performance.
Today, these rare vehicles attract plenty of attention and offer a unique driving experience essentially unmatched by other cars of its era.
The superb 1958 Bentley S1 Continental 'Flying Spur' Sports Saloon featured here is finished in classic British Racing Green over Black Connolly leather surrounded by stylish Burl Walnut woodwork throughout.
This motorcar is one of the 54 'Six Light' variants produced, of which only 16 are believed to have been built in left-hand-drive.
This particular vehicle was purchased by the renowned actor and producer, Richard Anderson, in the 1970s and used by him through the rest of his life.
It was noted by his daughter to have been long a dream of his to acquire one - once he had, the car quickly became a common sight in the Beverly Hills area.
We are proud to offer this stunning Bentley to the most sophisticated collector, investor, or enthusiast who understands and appreciates the investment potential of this limited production, hand-built Bentley Continental, offered at an investment price! About Richard Anderson:
