However, Ford had an ace up his sleeve with the revolutionary Model 18, which he developed in secret and introduced on 31 March 1932.
The first readily affordable, mass-produced vehicle with a V8, the Model 18 dramatically outsold the somewhat cheaper (and essentially identical) four-cylinder Model B.
Not only did the new motor take America by storm, but a stylish design available in a variety of forms ensured the Model 18 quickly earned its place in automotive history.
Understandably given its low cost, fairly high performance, and quantity produced, the Model 18 (and the subsequent Model 40 and 48) became one of the go-to vehicles for hot rodders.
As such, finding an unmodified example in fine condition can be exceptionally difficult depending on body style, so they necessarily hold a premium in collector circles.
These cars are remarkably quite easy to drive, with V8 models being readily able to attain (and hold) 50
mph and, unlike the Model T, offer a familiar pedal arrangement.
The 1932 Ford Model 18 V-8 Deluxe Roadster offered here is finished in stunning Washington Blue with Black fenders and Pale Yellow pinstripes/wheels over a classic Brown leather interior with a Beige top.
This vehicle received an incredible restoration and presents essentially as, if not better than, new.
A woodgrain dash, engine-turned metal instrument panel, and options such as dual side-mount spare tires and cowl lamps add further appeal to this stunning Deluxe Roadster.
We are proud to offer this exceptional 1932 Ford to the most discerning collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires the very best!.
