Van Driver

Basic Function
Under general supervision, operates the hotel shuttle van to provide guests and potential guests with convenient and reliable transportation to and from the airport while following Company policies and procedures. Van Drivers welcome and create a positive first/last impression upon guest arrival/departure. This function includes assisting with loading and unloading of guest luggage, providing information in regard to the hotel’s facilities and events, and directions to local attractions. Ensures the van is clean and in like new condition at all times – including assisting with monitoring routine maintenance and immediately reporting in mechanical concerns.
General Knowledge, Skill and Ability
Requires ability to take written and verbal direction in English and speak English clearly.
Requires ability to communicate in a friendly manner with guests in order to create a warm, relaxing, efficient environment.
Must maintain a good driving record and notify management immediately of any changes in your driving record.
Mental and Physical Requirements
AGE: Must be at least 21 years of age (unless state law requires a higher age).
EDUCATION: Requires knowledge, skill and mental ability equivalent to completion of 2 years of high school.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid Driver’s license and good driver’s record required.  Proof of insurability required. Requires the ability to meet all local airport transportation authority requirements. Requires a passing score on both a written and driving exam. A chauffeur's license may be required for operation of vans / shuttles that exceed 12 passengers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Requires ability to operate a motor vehicle, walk and stand during entire working period of up to 8 hours; requires ability to lift, carry and/or transport luggage weighing up to 75 pounds intermittently during the work shift. Requires the ability to perform tasks that include bending, stooping, climbing stairs, and walking long distances continuously during a shift.
Working Relationships
Reports to the Assistant General Manager or General Manager
Cooperates with all other team members

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
