Quality Assurance Manager (Food Industry)

Our client is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager (Food Industry)
This job will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide development and implementation of company food safety and quality policies and procedures.

  • Maintain continuous awareness of changes in the regulatory environment to ensure the facility can remain on the leading edge of issues.

  • Maintain facility compliance with current Federal, State, and Local laws.

  • Manage the prerequisite programs such as GMP's, Sanitation program, microbiological controls, allergen program, chemical program, glass and brittle program, pest control, and others.

  • Act as HACCP coordinator.

  • Act as the lead in attainment of facility certification(s) and SQF program.

  • Monitoring and maintaining all records pertinent for internal, second, and third party audits.

  • Review and approve product labels.

  • Review, approve and audit new suppliers, plants, and materials.

  • Develop relationship and work closely with suppliers regarding functional, quality, or regulatory topics that may come up.

  • Develop and implement process control practices and maintain compliance for all processes and products.

  • Conducts facility audits, documents audit findings, and manage any related corrective action process as needed.

  • Monitors quality of incoming material and quality of product manufactured on a daily basis.

  • Complete miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager.


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree.

  • Requires strong supervisory skills: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and create a team work environment by communicating effectively between shift/department

  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, SSOP and SQF requirements.

  • Experience in third party audit systems.

  • Ability to define problems and resolve them quickly.

  • Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and situations.

  • Able to prioritize workload on a daily basis.

  • Food Defense Training

  • GFSI Certification

  • FDA labeling experience

  • Ability to work all shifts

  • Microbiological testing experience

  • PC proficient on Windows based software including Excel and Word

  • Detail-oriented with strong quantitative and analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Process oriented

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision as a self-starter and often be self-directed

  • Hands-on (small company oriented)

  • Must be able to pass a background check and security/drug screen

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
